Micro Theme Revised

One thing that I really enjoy and that I’d say I’m passionate about is video games and gaming in general. I have been playing video games for well over a decade and continue to be an avid gamer to this day. When you start to follow games, you see issues surrounding them. This becomes prevalent when games are to be banned because of their content.
To start this off, all games are different and contain extremely different content, some are very kid friendly all the way to games where you are chain sawing people in half. Video games use a system similar to movies in which they have a rating system based on the content of these games, this allows people to know if a game is right for them or their kids. There are some who believe that this is not enough though and think that games with certain content should be banned. Australia is one of the few countries where the government has both banned and pre-censored games for its citizens. Some wonder how effective these kinds of bans are because with the rating system being on every game sold, someone who is too young cannot buy a game at certain ages. Games that are mature need someone over 18 in order to purchase them. So how do kids get these games that their parents consider questionable? Usually it is the parents buying the games themselves without looking into what the games are actually like. With the inability for kids to buy games without a parent or without parent’s info like credit cards to buy online, there is no reason to ban games with violent or bad content.

To me this is one of those types of issues where people look to shift the blame to others and to avoid a problem by getting rid of it. These kids should have no way to get these games unless the parents let them or the kids steal either the game or info to buy it from online sources. There is no real reason to ban them.
